The Grain Brief® – Special Edition
“Confirmed. Not Changed.”
USDA delivered the numbers.
The market delivered its verdict.
The message is crystal clear:
Nothing changed.
And that’s exactly why prices moved.
WHEAT
US ending stocks: 938 million bushels (+10% YoY)
Global stocks: rising
Futures: down 9–11 cents
More supply confirmed, demand still soft.
This wasn’t new information — it was validation.
And validation was enough to trigger selling.
CORN
🇺🇸 Balance sheet: largely unchanged
Global stocks: higher
Futures: down 3–5 cents
No tightening. No urgency.
Just a market slowly leaning lower — with no reason not to.
SOYBEANS
Crush: higher
Exports: lower
Stocks: flat
Futures: up 1–3 cents
No major bearish surprise → the market holds. But holding is not strength.
CROP PRODUCTION
No shocks. No shifts.
The system remains exactly where it was.
FINAL TAKE
Supply is not tight. Demand is not collapsing.
But nothing is strong enough to lift the market. And nothing is weak enough to break it.
While the numbers stood still… the system around them didn’t.
“Grain is abundant. Conviction isn’t.”
