MAO Yu Lynn Yuan is a practitioner for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, award-winning film director, multinational social entrepreneur and TEDx speaker, with professional practice at the intersection of art, technology, business and social innovation. As a long-term Independent Advisor to the UNGM, she focuses on advancing sustainable supply chains and sustainable innovation leadership practices. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art Management from the University of Toronto and a Master of Social Sciences in Sustainability Leadership and Governance from the University of Hong Kong, with cross-cultural perspectives and a professional academic background spanning Eastern and Western contexts. Her experimental art film Mermaid in the Garden of Escapism applies AI voiceover technology in a pioneering manner to address the underrepresentation of women’s voices, with a focus on gender equality as a public issue, and has received awards at multiple international film festivals. She serves regularly as an entrepreneurship mentor for Futurpreneur Canada, a national entrepreneurship organization, and The FORUM, a Canadian public charity, as well as a mentor and guest award presenter at the UNICEF-HKU Human Rights Case Competition, continuously supporting the development of youth and women.
